In July this year we visited secondary schools in Dudley taking a Musical Theatre workshop into GCSE Drama students. The workshop consisted of pupils learning a song, staging a scripted scene and learning movement to the song. Musicals covered were Grease and West Side Story.
We were approached by a school in Sandwell to produce a piece for the annual dance festival with their year six pupils. The project spanned only two weeks and a letter from the school afterwards stated 'Staff, parents and the schools governers were all impressed with your staff and the finished dance.'
Over the summer one of artists was choreographer for a Wolverhampton based Youth Theatre for their September production of Guy and Dolls. Press reviews described the choreography as 'most impressive' and the company secretary stated that as an artist they had 'a calm manner, keen eye for detail and efficient method of work.'
We have recently been covering GCSE drama classes for a School in Kingswinford, preparing the year 11 group for the examination, which was soley marked on a devised performance piece they had been working towards.
